Mara Martin, MSPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant with more than 14 years of experience dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of patients with spine and musculoskeletal conditions.
Before joining Parkview Pain & Regenerative Institute, Mara spent her career working alongside orthopedic spine surgeons in both Colorado and Arizona. Her extensive background in spine care gives her a unique perspective on patients with conditions ranging from common neck and back problems to complex spinal disorders.
At Parkview, Mara works closely with Dr. John Hong as part of a collaborative approach to evaluating patients, coordinating treatment, and helping patients navigate both nonsurgical and procedural options for spine, joint, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Extensive Experience in Spine Care

Mara began her career at Sonoran Spine in Arizona, where she spent nearly a decade working in a high-volume spine practice. Her responsibilities included evaluating new patients, managing follow-up care, counseling patients before surgery, providing postoperative care, reviewing diagnostic imaging, and assisting surgeons in the operating room.

Her surgical experience included both adult and pediatric spine surgery, encompassing procedures from routine lumbar surgery to complex spinal deformity correction.

More recently, Mara has practiced at Panorama Orthopedic & Spine Center in Colorado, where she has continued to provide comprehensive orthopedic spine care while assisting multiple spine surgeons with minimally invasive and complex spinal procedures.

This combination of extensive clinical and surgical experience allows Mara to evaluate spine conditions with an understanding of the full treatment spectrum—from conservative management and minimally invasive interventions to situations requiring surgical evaluation.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Mara has extensive experience reviewing spinal imaging, including X-rays, MRI scans, and CT scans, and integrating imaging findings with a patient's symptoms, physical examination, previous treatments, and functional limitations.

At Parkview, she works alongside Dr. Hong to help determine the source of a patient's symptoms and develop an individualized treatment strategy.

Beyond Medicine

Mara enjoys the outdoors, family life, and cooking. She loves spending time on the hiking trail, making memories with loved ones, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
